Capel Curig lies 600 feet above sea-level amid wild and rugged mountain scenery. It is one of the oldest tourist centres in North Wales and is a fine base for walking and climbing. South of the village Moel Siabod rises to a height of 2,860 feet while the peaks of Snowdon stand out clearly to the west. They are particularly striking seen across the waters of Llyn Mymbyr which is also known as the Capel Curig lakes and consists of two small lakes linked by a channel. |
