Where to Go on the Lleyn Peninsula

The Lleyn Peninsula is an unspoiled area of natural beauty with a number of other pleasant resorts like Criccieth. Westwards from Criccieth, the busy market town of Pwllheli stands around a land locked harbour.

From Gimlet Rock, at the harbour mouth, the sands sweep five miles to the rocky wooded headland of Llanbedrog with its sheltered sandy cove. Around the headland, the unspoilt village of Abersoch has a small harbour in the mouth of the Abersoch river.

After Porth Neigwl, a sandy bay some four miles wide, the Lleyn begins to narrow sharply and near to the tip of the peninsula is Aberdaron, set it wild and rugged coastal scenery.

On the Lleyn's northern shore the fishing villages of Morfa Nefyn and Porth Dinllaen are dominated by the peaks of The Rivals, mountains which rise to 1,850 feet.
